RDW announces new kilometre-based truck toll
The Dutch government has announced that it will introduce a new kilometre-based truck toll on 1 July 2026.
Reportedly, the system replaces the Eurovignette and applies to trucks over 3,500 kg, with charges based on vehicle weight, emission class, and CO₂ category.
The new toll will directly influence operating costs, fleet planning and long-term fleet investment - not only in the Netherlands but also for cross-border transport across Europe.
TIP Group supports fleet operators in their transition to the new toll system, providing the expertise they need to remain competitive and future‑proof.
The Dutch licensing organisation Dienst Wegverkeer (RDW) has approved Telepass as a provider for the Dutch truck toll. In addition to Telepass, TotalEnergies has already been approved as an EETS provider.
Four other EETS providers are expected to follow soon: Axxes, Eurowag, Toll4Europe and tolltickets. In addition, the service provider NedLinq supplies onboard units that only work in the Netherlands. Transport operators can already register with these providers, or via partners (such as fuel card providers).
